SCORES
Tomomi Adachi (Stimme, Elektronik, Performance) - Ulrike Brand (Cello, Stimme, Performance)
Videoscore, Brainwavescore, Pitch-detecting Score, Talking Score, Action Score, Tecnically Generated Live Score, 3-dimensional Score (Lego).
A project by Tomomi Adachi and Ulrike Brand
Tomomi Adachi (voice+electronics) - Ulrike Brand (cello)
„Cartesianists!“ is a work in progress which considers different kinds of intending scores : writing, notating, speaking, imitating gestures, video score, tecnologically generated live score….acting/non interacting, connecting/disconnecting, touching/not touching
- a brainwave procreates a score in realtime and the score is played by cello immediately
- the cello’s strings functions as conductive parts of an analogue synthesizer, the player's action is transformed into different music
- a computer program detects cello pitches, then modulates automatically into other sounds
- realtime verbal instructions are given to a player
The project is a conceptualization of relationships between composer and performer, transforming musical ideas into physical actions. Cartesianism in music.
The concert in this context is seen as an experimental set-up in which the results of the common research are coming together in a quite variable performance.
